UPWARD BOUND PROGRAM

What is Upward Bound?

Upward Bound is a year-round program designed to prepare high school students for college. Students can earn a monthly stipend!  

Services Upward Bound Provides:

Six-Week Summer Enrichment Institute 

Classes in English, math, science and a foreign language 

Career-Exploration Activities

Work Study Program

Cultural Experiences 

Who Can Enroll?:

Cleveland Metropolitan School District students in 9th, 10th and 11th grade at Glenville, East Technical, John Hay and John Marshall High Schools.  

Academic-Enrichment Services:

After-school assistance in core academic subjects (English, Math and Science) 

Preparation for college-entrance exams

Preparation for Ohio State Test (OST)

College Visits:

To public and private colleges and universities. In 2019-2020, we visited Tri-C Western Campus, Tiffin State University, Terra State University and Cleveland State University.

Saturday Seminars:

Monthly programs on special topics such as the college experience, Hip-Hop Yoga, scholarship and FAFSA assistance and career exploration.

Up to Two Tri-C Classes for Free; Transferable College Credits; Weekly Advising
